To kick off this motivational weekend, Jacque M. partnered with Baller Alert, JonesTwo Communications, and Legna Media group to host an intimate networking social called the “Custom Clutches & Cocktails” event at the Jacque M. studio. To celebrate female entrepreneurs, and encourage young women to develop their brand, Jacque M. held a contest for young female entrepreneurs. The prize was a personal invite to the “Custom Clutches & Cocktails” event and their own Jacque M. custom clutch. As the emails started rolling in, the Jacque M. team narrowed the contestants down by professionalism, creativity, and confidence. Among the winners chosen were stylist/boutique owner Jasmeen Davis, hair stylist Jasmine Soleil, and accessory designer Joy Hardaway.
After inspiring young female entrepreneurs at the “Custom Clutches & Cocktails” event, Jacque M. shared her insight once more to inspire young business owners at the “Moguls In The Making” entrepreneur panel and networking social. Among the panelists were k104 radio personality/DJ Bay Bay, Baller Alert editor/blogger Eleven 8, marketing guru Big Tex, & wig designer/fitness expert Britney Mcgee.
The event opened up with a networking social, which gave each young aspiring entrepreneur the chance to have a one-on-one with the panelists. Hosted and moderated by Quite Frank, the event kicked off with spoken word artist Shy Speaks. After Shy’s stirring performance, the panelists were brought on stage. The panelist took turns answering questions asked by the audience. Their take-aways were nothing less than amazing:
“If you’re wanting to be an entrepreneur, then go for it, don’t wait! If you’re scared, it’s ok, push thru.” -Jacque M.
“It’s not who you know, it’s who knows you, with emphasis on impressions.” -Eleven 8
“Stop calling it networking, let it be about relationship building & human interaction!” -Big Tex
“Your attitude will determine your altitude.” -Bay Bay
“I draw inspiration from making women feel good about themselves, from their hair to their heels.” -Britney Mcgee

Collaborations may expose your brand to new audiences. Look at the success of Beyonce & Nicki Minaj’s “Flawless”, or Jay Z & Kanye West’s “Watch the Throne”. Still not convinced look at the Nordstrom and Topshop collab? Each brand has been given the opportunity to be opened up to a different demographic. Webster defines a collaboration as a joint intellectual effort, made by many powers working together. It’s no wonder why so many companies over the years have participated in this strategy.
The newest power collab to hit the market is a line called BellaBody. This new premier shapewear, undergarment, and athletic apparel line is a joint collaboration between luxury handbag brand Jacque M. 528, shoe and apparel boutique BDonnas, and premier boutique Tinka’s Closet. These three brands came together to provide quality shapewear that focuses on style, efficiency, and comfort.
“When you combine resources, you gain access to your partner’s markets, in this collaboration-all three have three different markets, we can reach people we haven't before, we become a triple threat.” -Catrina Brown, Co-Owner of Tinka’s Closet
Although still new, the success of this business endeavor is apparent: over 18K devoted followers on social media, multiple celebrity endorsements such as Grammy nominated singer Fantasia and reality television star/designer Draya Michele, and new product added to the line-up constantly.
“Business is about networking, relationships, and collaborations,” celebrity handbag designer Jacque Martin said,“collaborations work because all participating parties have different resources and relationships that are now combined.”
With all the potential success of a collaboration in business, one has to wonder why more companies don’t collab more often. It's a no-brainer according to BDonnas Co-owner Tiffanie Obryant.
“When everyone has their own niche, we all bring something different to the table,” Obryant said, “why not come together and be bigger, better, stronger?"
When a business relationship is organic, and everyone is on the same page, the sky’s the limit. All three brands have the drive, compassion, and the combined business sense to establish an advantageous brand.

We were blown away by the fashion show. Asherah Swimwear, Commecci, and La-Zay Fair were showcased. We loved the sporty sexy edge that inspired the Asherah Swimwear line. The Commecci pieces were grand yet unconventionally sensual. The garments flowed down the runway, almost dream-like. The La-Zay Fair line was very sassy, for the sake of accuracy, a grown sassy with a flirty edge. We here at Jacque M. 528, wanted several pieces from each collection.
In addition to a fashion show, The Cosign Experience had musical performances by Dallas artists. The line-up included: Star, Larry G(ee), Tru Def, Kassey Levels, Erica Mellon, Rage Almighty, Mr. Carter Davis, Standroid, Jayson Lyric, and Crystal Baby. The music segment of this event truly felt like a music festival show. The caliber of artistry showcased was impressive. We are definitely checking out several of the acts that performed. Our favorite performance was from artist Kassey Levels, who gave us original material as well as covers. Our new favorite local artist covered our summer jam BBHMM by Rihanna, and made it her own.
Special Thank You to K.G. and the entire Cosign Team, all the vendors (oh hey Dutchez Boutique), as well the music and visual artists who shared their work. We definitely will continue to support Dallas’ own fashion, music and entertainment publication, Cosign Magazine.
